After hearing about the sudden passing Vocal Legend Whitney Houston, Glee producers decided to add a tribute to Whitney Houston. The producers of the show chose Amber Riley who plays Mercedes to sing I Will Always Love You.
They shot this episode way before Whitney passed. It was merely a coincidence that Amber sang this song on the show.
